The NSF Funded program objective:

•  Build an innovative, transdisciplinary model for undergraduate computing education, thereby creating student learning experiences especially accessible for the adult learner;

There is $5000 award for each Community Building Team (CBTeam), which consists of one faculty and at least two undergraduate students. The deliverables at the end of the team activities are:

  • Identification of computing competencies and skills, key knowledge and dispositions needed in the workforce, both today and tomorrow.
  • Exploration common interests, lessons learned, and promising practices.
  • Extraction of metatheory from a wide range of practical applications.
  • Engagement of national leaders to ensure a continuing and sustainable focus on innovation in computing education
  • Participation and presentation at CBTeams workshop.

We would like to invite all computing education stakeholders to apply for the award. Right now, we have five CBT teams, the leaders are:

  • Ms. Debra Gaskin, Joliet Junior College
  • Dr. David Green, Governors State University
  • Dr. Ronald Greenberg, Loyola University
  • Dr. Jesse Wang, Chicago State University
  • Dr. DingBang Xu, Governors State University
